Masaba Gupta revealed her mother Neena Gupta does not allow her to become an actress | Daughter wanted to become an actress, Neena Gupta had said

Masaba Gupta On Neena Gupta: Masaba Gupta needs no introduction today. She is the daughter of Bollywood’s veteran actress Neena Gupta and she is also a leading fashion designer. Masaba Gupta has now stepped into the world of acting with the streaming show ‘Masaba Masaba’. Recently, Masaba revealed why she did not become an actress?

Why did Masaba Gupta not become an actress?
In the podcast ‘Beauty Banter’ hosted by Queenie Singh, Masaba revealed that her mother Neena Gupta had forbidden her from taking up acting as a profession. Masaba said, “She didn’t let me become an actor. Okay. That’s why, I remember Anupam Kher has an acting school in Mumbai. They share a wall with SNDT college, and I said, I want to go and study acting because I want to become an actor. And she said, don’t even think about it. You know, you have this look that’s very artsy, international and not Indian at all, you will be put in a box. And the industry was very different back then.”

Masaba further said, ‘So he said, you will be disappointed. Do something that you have to put your mind into, something that you can do for the rest of your life. And he said, oh, there is SNDT. Do you want to try it? Admissions were open. I went there and I gave my, I put my paper, filled a form. And my test grade marks were all that was needed to take that form. So, luckily they were nice and they took it. They said, yes, come in a week and take the entrance exam.’

Nepotism exists in every industry
Masaba also spoke about how nepotism is not just limited to the film industry and it exists in every industry or profession. She said, “Nepotism exists in every industry. A lawyer’s son becomes a lawyer. A doctor’s son becomes a doctor. And their father recommends them. That’s the way of the world. Not just in India, but everywhere. Yes, sometimes I feel that opportunities are lost in Bollywood because of nepotism but that’s the way of the world. It’s just that it’s such a public industry that you can see it. It happens everywhere.”
